The idea
Operating-system ideas are easier to study when their state is visible and their controls are approachable. Phase1 provides a terminal environment for exploring filesystems, processes, command policy and local workflows through a simulated system model.
How it works
Rust modules implement a simulated scheduler, virtual filesystem and process table beneath a terminal operator interface. Command metadata and explicit policy gates control host-backed operations. Sanitized history, audit records and a local notes-and-rules companion make experiments inspectable.
What’s implemented
- Boot interface, dashboard, help and command completion
- Simulated kernel, virtual filesystem and process table
- Explicit policy gates for host-backed commands
- Sanitized local history, audit log and learning notes
- Documentation, browser demo and repository quality tooling
PROJECT STATUS / EDUCATIONAL CONSOLE
Where it stands
Educational virtual OS console
- Educational virtual OS simulation, not an independent kernel or hardened security boundary
- Base1 real-hardware foundation remains planned
- The checked package is a development line; release labels in documentation describe separate tracks
