The idea
System actions often hide the authority, assumptions and evidence behind them. Latticra explores a substrate where local state, requests, capability boundaries and reports become explicit, inspectable records before wider runtime authority is granted.
How it works
C/C++ models and supporting scripts represent state, requests, transitions and evidence as structured records. A Lat-to-LIR pipeline records parsing, semantic checks and lowering, while capability and effect classifiers preserve explicit no-effect boundaries. Receipts, reports and validation contracts track what a local observation can support.
What’s implemented
- State-lattice and preview-only transition models
- Lat parsing, semantic checks and lowering to LIR
- Capability, effect and verification metadata classification
- Nucleus task and report architecture
- Local receipts, reproducible reports and evidence contracts
PROJECT STATUS / RESEARCH SUBSTRATE
Where it stands
Systems research substrate
- Early architecture and validation work, with many surfaces limited to metadata and preview
- Production protection, hardened sandboxing and OS replacement are not established
- Privileged, network and general runtime authority remain closed unless a narrower record explicitly supports them
